Best places to visit in the Spring

Spring is one of the best seasons (in my opinion). The sun is setting later, the warm weather is starting to come around, the vibes are getting better. It is also an amazing time to book a lil getaway for at a cheaper cost than if you booked in the summer time. The spring time in Europe is from the end of March until the end of June (dates may vary for each country). Europe’s summer is fast approaching, as are the school holidays, so the best time to visit without crazy crowds, and during a summer rush, is now. So, here are some of the best places to visit in the spring.

Florence

Florence is a beautiful city with a lot of things to do. The sun is starting to shine, which means you can book day trips to Tuscany. My favourite is wine tasting in Tuscany, but there are lots of other ones, such as Vespa riding through Tuscany. Once you have visited the Italian countryside, you can spend your days wandering the town and soaking up the sun. There are museums to visit and manyyyyy streets to walk down. As the weather is getting better, you might be lucky enough to catch an amazing sunset from the hills.

Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre is filled with 5 villages for people to explore. As the weather is starting to get better, it means you can spend your time on the beach, swimming in the sea and going on boat trips. Not only this, but you can spend your time hiking from village-to-village. Or, if you’d prefer, you can just get the train. Whatever your preference, it is a great time to visit if you are looking for decent weather. As these 5 villages are soooo popular amongst tourists, it is best to visit in the Spring. When I went it rained on one of the days and that day was still filled with loads of tourists, so I can’t imagine it in the summer.

Corfu

Corfu, Greece is another great option. Greece is a very popular destination for tourists in the summer time. If you are lucky, the water could be warm (don’t hate me if it’s not). You will miss the rush of summertime tourists if you decide to go in the Spring time too. Similarly to many beach destinations, boat trips are starting to happen and days by the beach are do-able.

Barcelona

If you don’t want to rely on the weather, then Barcelona is a good choice. If the weather is good, you can head to the beach. If it is bad, you can explore the city. Like my other suggestions, you can do a few boat rides, some of which offer sangria and tapas (as seen on airbnb experiences). You can head into the city and experience the nightlife, or visit many of the museums the city has to offer. On top of this, you could visit the famous Park Güell.

Malta

Last on the list is Malta. Malta is a tiny Island and when I visited at the end of March, it was still rather busy. When I say busy, I mean the streets were filled with people. You don’t need long here, but you can spend your day exploring the island, or you can do a boat trip to the blue lagoon. The blue lagoon is a must in my opinion, so good weather is also needed.

It can be difficult choosing a place to visit when there are so many beautiful towns to explore. Hopefully this list will give you some inspiration 🙂
