Cheap snowy getaway this winter

When you think about winter holidays, most people either associate it with skiing trips in the alps. Although this sounds amazing, skiing trips can be very costly, especially during the winter season. Even if you don’t want to ski, the locations that are often filled with snow are still somewhat expensive as they increase their price during peak season.

A place that many people may not associate with snowy getaways is Poland. More specifically, Zakopane. Located around 2 hours away (via car) from Krakow, Zakopane is the perfect snowy weekend getaway. Although it does have an area for skiing, it is not as nearly as expensive as other countries.

We went for 3 days and stayed in a cute 2 bedroom airbnb. We were around a 10-15 minute walk from the main town/village. On the first day we made our way into the local village/town which had multiple restaurants. We tried some delicious food and had some mulled wine. On the second day, we went up on the ski lift. At the top there was a beautiful view, some stands, food and more mulled wine. On the last day, we made our way into Krakow and had a quick tour of the town.

The flights and hotel cost a total of £140 each. The accommodation we booked is called Willa Leluja www.booking.com. To get a cheap getaway, make sure you book somewhat in advance.
